David Weild

CO-HEAD, WEILD CLIMATE GROUP

David is the former Vice Chairman of NASDAQ, head of corporate finance at Prudential Financial, and founder of Weild & Co. Known as the "Father of the JOBS Act," he has significantly influenced pro-capital formation legislation. David has spoken at the White House, Congress, and international venues. He has authored numerous papers on economics and markets, including one published by the OECD. Originally a scientist, David shifted to Wall Street to leverage biotechnology's potential to improve health. He advocates for environmental protection while maintaining economic prosperity and aims to use his expertise to combat climate change and pollution.

David holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 79, 82 and 99 licenses.

John Rogers

CO-HEAD, WEILD CLIMATE GROUP

John Rogers is Group Co-Head of Weild Climate Markets, and a Senior Managing Director of Weild & Co. John is a registered NY attorney, and has an extensive background in corporate law, investment banking, asset management, and private capital markets. Earlier in his career, John worked for a Texas family office, and later with two leading investment banks in the US and Asia. Thereafter, he had responsibility for the European and Mideast operations of a NY private investment firm. John has deep experience in the energy industry, including the legacy upstream, power and clean energy sectors.

John is active on academic boards, and is a member of the NY Bar, with FINRA 7, 63 and 79 licenses.

    Thomas Cardwell

    Thomas is a Registered Representative at Weild & Co. with 34 years of experience in financing, transactions, and fundraising. Formerly the Economic Development Director for the Virginia NAACP, he promoted financial literacy and economic empowerment. Currently, Thomas is involved in the carbon credit market, guiding clients through carbon trading and promoting renewable energy investments.

    Joel has over 30 years of experience in capital markets. He developed the Institutional Investor sales desk for two mid-tier investment banks and managed over $3 billion in assets for a Middle East family office. Joel is the Head of the MENA region for Weild & Co and advises on mergers and acquisitions and private capital raising, focusing on decarbonizing industrial processes.

    John is the founder of Kind Capital, an impact investing advisory firm. He previously founded Lumina Impact Ventures and managed investments at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. John focuses on climate change, leveraging his network to promote carbon credits as transitional tools and structuring impact investments to combat global warming.

Michael has experience expanding firms’ reach into distressed and special situation financing, focusing on climate change opportunities.

    Michael Geffard

    Michael has extensive experience financing infrastructure for power generation, transmission, and distribution, including intelligent microgrids, utility scale generation, and commercial and industrial projects. Currently he focuses on intelligent microgrids for hospitals and colleges with a leading US developer and installer. He also collaborates with companies specializing in localized generation technologies, such as fuel cells and battery storage.

Sabrina has assisted multiple start-ups and middle market companies in seed capital, Series A and B rounds, and acquisitions.

    Mitchell Gordon

    Mitchell led the Global Transportation Investment Banking Group at Salomon Smith Barney, ran 2 boutique investment banking firms, and was CFO of 2 public companies and CEO of 3 others. He has served on 12 corporate and 4 not-for-profit boards. He advises companies on financings and mergers & acquisitions. Recent projects include electric aircraft and bio-waste to clean hydrogen financings.

    Peter Lusk, Jr. brings over 30 years of experience in clean tech, alternative energy, and ESG investing. He has mentored startups through Clean Tech Open, NYSERDA, and Columbia Technology Ventures, successfully raising capital for battery technology, waste-to-energy, and alternative fuels companies.     In his 40-year career, David has worked in growth strategy for Fortune 100 companies, private equity, corporate M&A, and investment banking. He started as a McKinsey & Company partner, later becoming a private equity partner, an investor and board member in FreeMarkets, Inc., and senior VP of strategy for a global agricultural firm. He has also advised international energy, mining, and agricultural companies on strategy, acquisitions, and IT contracts.

    Daniel Sweet has more than 40 years of trading experience, having overseen trading of ADR’s and foreign currencies for several major Wall Street firms.  He is Managing Board Member of Dignity Gold, LLC, a blockchain development company creating securities tokens to establish investment opportunities in the US precious metals mining and minerals.  From 2014-2020 he was a Partner and CFO of EceSTEM LLC, an early childhood education company.

    Todd White

    Todd is a Managing Director at Weild Climate Markets and a practicing attorney with extensive experience in securities and tax law. He has led private placements of equity, debt, and M&A transactions. Previously, Todd managed Deloitte’s International Tax practice for offshore markets and served as General Counsel for Bermuda market reinsurers. He has worked on climate tech, blockchain, and insurance projects, launched an organics processing company, and focused on utility-scale renewable energy financing.
